SEKHUKHUNE – A cohort of administration officials, Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) and unemployed youth graduates from Sekhukhune district has headed for the People’s Republic of China to partake in an exciting business exchange programme.
According to Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM), the delegation, which left on Monday, 9 August, will not only represent the district but the entire Limpopo province in the business exchange initiative.
Lemson Moropjane, SDM spokesperson, said the programme is a result of the partnership between the Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) and the Chinese Cultural and International Education Exchange Centre (CCIEEC).
Moropjane indicated that the two organizations have laid the foundation for establishing sister-city relationships between South Africa and Chinese cities, aiming to promote cultural exchange, economic trade and mutual understanding between the two nations.
“The exchange programme focuses on enhancing cooperation through skills training related to local government, which will ultimately benefit the municipal officials, unemployed graduates and SMMEs,” explained Moropjane.
