Mantepebotse Primary Cooperatives receives much-needed help

GROBLERSDAL – The Mantepebotse Primary Cooperative, a brainchild of Ms. Selinah Tlaka who is also founder of the blissful Ipopeng Cultural Group, from Dikgalaopeng Village, received a massive boost when the Patriotic Alliance (PA) handed over to them water tanks, gardening equipment and various vegetable seeds on Tuesday, 30 July.

According to Ms. Tlaka the help follows their recent meeting with Patriotic Alliance (PA) leaders at Happy Day Combined School in Polokwane where Ipopeng Cultural Group was invited to perform during an event.

Tlaka said leader of the party, Kenny Kunene, was present during the event and was touched that the talented group is facing sponsorship challenges that has led them failing to honour international trips where they were invited to perform in the past years.

“The leaders then promised to come to Sekhukhune district to provide help for artists to accomplish their goals,” shared Ms.Tlaka.

The cooperative received eleven 2500L water tanks, 22 picks, 22 garden forks, 22 rakes, an assortment of vegetable seeds, fertilizers, pests control chemicals and 22 guitars among other gifts as well as 11 wheelbarrows through facilitation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Ms. Tlaka, who leads the cooperative which helps fight unemployment and poverty in the rural community, expressed her gratitude for the support they were given.

“We really appreciate the effort and hope that the leaders will continue to help others in need. We are glad to see that there are people out there who notice our hard work to develop communities,” concluded Tlaka.
