Human remains discovered near initiation school, police investigate
STOCKING MBABALELO – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Burgersfort have launched an inquest case following the discovery of human remains on Wednesday, 26 June at Stocking Mbabalelo bushes near an initiation school.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said according to reports, initiates were gathering firewood when they came across the human remains, including a skull as well as male and female clothing made up of grey pair of trousers, red jersey, grey socks and grey traditional women’s outfit.
Ledwaba indicated that it appears that the bones have been at the scene for an extended period of time. “The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated, and the identity of the deceased remains unknown at this stage.
