Minister Motsoaledi avails mobile offices for Tafelkop residents

The Minister of Department of Home Affairs (DHA), Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, has on Tuesday 14 May handed-over four state-of-the-art mobile offices to the community of Tafelkop Village outside Groblersdal in Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM).
The hand-over event was held at Tafelkop Community Hall and attended by EMLM Political Head responsible for Budget and Treasury, Cllr Aaron Machipa who was representing Elias Motsoaledi, Cllr David Tladi, EMLM Council Speaker, Cllr Dieketseng Mashego, Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM) Council Speaker, Cllr Kgwediebotse Chego, Kgoši Boleu Rammupudu II and other councillors.
By introducing these mobile Home Affairs trucks, Minister Motsoaledi has significantly improved access to public services for outlying communities. The truck will be stationed at DHA offices in Groblersdal which is currently over-burdened by long queues of people seeking assistance on daily basis.
During the hand-over, Minister Motsoaledi informed stakeholders that the four brand new mobile offices are set to bring Home Affairs services closer to the people of EMLM.
He said the initiative aims to enhance accessibility and efficiency in providing essential services such as birth certificates and ID registrations, to the underserved communities.
Groblersdal DHA is currently serving residents in over 30 villages from EMLM, Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality (EPMLM) and Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (MLM).
The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their location, has access to vital documentation. Both EMLM and SDM appreciated the delivery of the mobile Home Affairs trucks.
Meanwhile MEC for Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Basikopo Makamu, has on Tuesday 14 May, unveiled six appointed contractors to commence with various infrastructure development projects in EMLM.
The contractors will be rendering services that will include installation of infrastructure services such as water, sewer and upgrading of roads at local municipality’s game farm.
During the unveiling of the contractors, MEC Makamu was joined by Mayor of EMLM, Cllr David Tladi, EMLM Chief-whip of the Council, Cllr Elias Nduli, EMLM Councillor Winter Ratlou, SDM Councillor Kuki Sefala, Municipal Managers and Technical Directors form both EMLM and SDM.
