Makhuduthamaga communities get more new access roads

HLALANIKAHLE/MAKGERU -Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (MLM) Mayor, Merah Mahlase spearheaded the handover of two more completed road projects at Hlalanikahle, ward 1 and Makgeru villages, Ward 12 on 14 May.

Thomas Mashabela, MLM spokesperson, informed that the rehabilitation of the Hlalanikahle 2.2km access road was completed in 2023 within a space of six months. 

According to Mashabela through the implementation of this project, the municipality created 32 temporary jobs for local community members.

Mayor Mahlase’s entourage proceeded to Makgeru Village where she officially presented another completed project to community stakeholders. 

Furthermore, in another jubilant turn of events in Ward 12 Mahlase handed over the 0.85km paved road and bridge, that Mashabela indicated has benefited the local communities through the creation of 42 jobs and seven Small Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMME)s in a space of eight months.

The ceremonies were attended by EXCO members, councillors Mohlala Magetlane, Tabane Rankoe, Council Chief Whip Mosedi Thamaga, Kgošigadi Malegobe Ivy Maserumule, Headman Mahlangu, Kgošigadi Makgeru and several others 

The Mayor was expected to hand over another set of two completed roads, the Kome Access Road and Jane Furse RDP to Mogorwane on 15 May.
