Ward 1 residents interact with local government

MALEBITSA – In a move that seeks to coordinate the work of local government and other spheres in a coherent way to improve the quality of life of all people living in Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality (EPMLM), Mayor Given Moimana ran the first leg of 2024/2025 Draft Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget consultation program at Malebitsa Village on Monday, 8 April.

Communities from wards 1 to 3 were, during the gathering, given an opportunity to give their inputs to the Draft IDP/Budget for the aforementioned financial period in a move to promote participatory democracy.

Percy Moagi, EPMLM Communications Manager, informed that the program was graced by the mayor, Council Speaker Rebecca Lentsoane, Chief Whip of council, Lina Magane, Exco members, councilors, representatives of the local Moshate and Municipal Manager Mogobadi Moropa among others.

Mayor Moimana noted the concerns raised by members of the community and equally called on them to safeguard the properties and assets of the municipality.

The program was constituted in terms of the Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000, which requires municipalities to develop IDPs to respond to dynamic circumstances of the organization.

Moagi indicated that an IDP is a super strategic plan for a municipal area, which provides an overall framework for development that is sustainable.
