Hardware manager shot and killed, police search for armed suspects
GROBLERSDAL/MARBLEHALL – Police in Groblersdal have launched a manhunt for armed suspects who shot and killed a manager of a hardware and robbed him of undisclosed amount money on Friday afternoon, 29 March 2024 at about 16:00.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said police responded to a shooting incident along the N11 road along Schoombee farms between Marble Hall and Groblersdal and upon arrival, together with the Emergency Medical Services (EMS), they found the male driver inside his vehicle, having been shot multiple times. Ledwaba informed that the victim was certified dead on the scene.
He said preliminary investigations revealed that the 33-year-old foreign national of Indian origin had just knocked off from work at Leeuwfontein Township, where he was employed as a manager of a hardware when he was accosted by unidentified suspects.
Provincial Commissioner of South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has called upon community members to provide information about the ruthless criminals while police investigations are ongoing to hunt down and arrest the suspects. Police have opened a case of murder and robbery.
