Mayor Bahula lauds close-knitted work of political and administrative arms of SDM
BURGERSFORT – The swift collaborative efforts of the political and administrative wings of Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM) in implementing resolutions aimed at enhancing lives of communities received an applauded from Executive Mayor Minah Bahula during a Mid-Term Performance Review Lekgotla on February 28.
The Mid-Term Performance Review Lekgotla was held at Thaba Moshate Hotel outside Burgersfort within the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality. It aimed to provide a platform to assess progress and track resolutions formulated in the previous engagements, with the primary focus to scrutinise service delivery.
Key resolutions that emerged from the meeting were to strengthen intergovernmental relations to foster a seamless and coordinated approach and also urging local municipalities’ participation in the district makgotla, to expedite service delivery.
A resolution was also taken to organize an economic summit in Sekhukhune district to identify and deliberate on key development projects.
Furthermore, the engagement session agreed to expedite the implementation of enhanced revenue collection strategies to ensure the municipality’s financial sustainability and advance dialogue with the mining stakeholders regarding water issues within the framework of social labour plans.
Lemson Moropjane, SDM Communications Head, said the resolutions ensure the municipality’s dedication to addressing critical community needs and enhance sustainable development initiatives.
Executive Mayor Bahula commended the commitment and synergy demonstrated by all stakeholders and emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration in realizing the shared vision of a prosperous Sekhukhune district.
