Nkosi appointed SDM MPAC Chairperson

GROBLERSDAL – Samson Magodireng Nkosi has been appointed as the new Sekhukhune District Municipal Public Accounts Committee Chairperson.

Nkosi ascended to the position during a council meeting held on December 13 which resolved to reconfigure its Section 79 standing committee.

The decision follows the resignation of Councillor Matabane Mathale in the same position and has since been employed as Member of the Mayoral Committee for a key priority of the municipality, Infrastructure, Water and Sanitation portfolio.

Nkosi’s immediate task and responsibility is to ensure good governance in the council and that public finance legislated prescripts are fully followed and also play a watchdog, an oversight role over the council.

Elected under Schedule 3 of the Municipal Structures Act 112 of 1998, Nkosi boasts a wealth of public service and local government experience, having previously led Fetakgomo-Tubatse as council chief whip and also served on numerous portfolios such as head of planning and economic Development, finance and very recently, chaired the portfolio committee on women, children and people living with disabilities.
