Sekhukhune East learners shine during matric  announcement ceremony

SEKHUKHUNE

Yet again , the Sekhukhune District has recorded an academic improvement  in the 2025 Matric results .

This achievement was celebrated during the Provincial Official Matric Results Announcement Ceremony held at the Ranch Resort Hotel outside Polokwane. Outstanding learners proudly represented Sekhukhune, raising the district flag high on a provincial platform.

Among the top achievers were Mathake Thabo  from Leolo High School in Sekhukhune East, who attained national overall performance in Technical Studies , and  Jasean Moime both aspiring to pursue Engineering studies at institutions of higher learning. Gadebe Amogelang also distinguished herself by achieving 300 marks in Business Studies.

The district further celebrates Mr Makotonyane S for leading the most improved circuit, Bogwasha  Circuit, under the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality.

Dr S. F. Malatji, the District Director received the highest appreciation from Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba acknowledging  the district’s progress, emphasizing that such improvement requires a collective effort from educators, learners, parents, and departmental leadership. Dr Ramathuba also commended Sekhukhune East for its remarkable rise from position 9 in the previous year to position 5 in the current academic year.

“We must strive to reach beyond our limits. Today we celebrate our progress, acknowledge our challenges, and remain hopeful and determined to do even better next year.

The Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune Cllr Minah Bahula  who also attended the event, along the District’s local Mayors and MMCs , extended words of appreciation to all education stakeholders.

The Limpopo Matric Class of 2025 has obtained 86,1% matric pass rate  marking a steady progress  performance compared to the previous year.
