Executive Mayor Bahula brings joy to around 1000 vulnerable families

MOGORWANE – In a heart-warming display of compassion and leadership, the Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM), Cllr Minah Bahula, has brought festive cheer to around 1000 vulnerable families in Sekhukhune, through her Annual Festive Food Relief Programme.

The event, held in Mogorwane Village outside Jane Furse on Friday 19 December 2025, saw Magoši, struggle veterans, and child-headed families from across the district receive much-needed food support, restoring dignity to those who need it most during the festive season.

During the programme, Executive Mayor Bahula emphasized the municipality’s commitment to caring for its most vulnerable members.

“I cannot lead you if I don’t love you. I am leading this food relief programme yearly because I understand your pain and situations,” she said.

The Executive Mayor used the platform to highlight service delivery challenges, calling on Magoši to continue supporting government programmes and engage with government leadership to address bottlenecks.

“We need collaborative solutions to ensure our people receive the services they deserve,” she urged.

Accompanied by local mayors, speakers, and members of the Mayoral Committee, Bahula encouraged councillors to actively identify and support struggling families, particularly those affected by loss.

Bahula extended gratitude to all stakeholders involved in making the initiative possible.

“We are grateful to the businesses that continue to support this life-changing initiative,” she said.

The heart-warming initiative has brought hope and joy to many families, reminding all that compassion and care can make a real difference in people’s lives.
