Radingwane recognizes outstanding GTA drivers and staff
GROBLERSDAL – In an awarding ceremony held on Monday 15 December 2025 at the Groblersdal Taxi Association (GTA) offices in Groblersdal, the Director of Hebzer Sports Academy, Herbert Radingwana, recognized the outstanding contributions of GTA taxi drivers and staff, reaffirming his commitment to transforming the taxi industry into a formal business that prioritizes commuter safety and satisfaction.
During the awarding ceremony, Radingwana, who is also a GTA taxi operator, praised Castro Mmangokoane, a taxi driver from GTA, who won first prize in the Limpopo Department of Transport’s Best Drivers Competition, representing Sekhukhune District.
As a gesture of appreciation, Radingwane awarded Mmangokoane a Special Driver’s Award, acknowledging his dedication to safe and responsible driving.
“Our community comes first, their safety is my priority. Our drivers carry 15 lives and more per day, and it’s imperative that we recognize their tireless efforts,” Radingwane said.
A GTA queue marshall, Janjie Masanabo, was also recognized for his outstanding service, receiving an award for his contributions to the community.
Radingwane emphasized that the happiness of the community is directly linked to the growth of the taxi industry, stating: “If the community is happy, our taxi industry is growing.”
The event also honoured GTA office administrators, with Allette Phatlane, Sharon Mokgomogane, and Percian Sithole receiving Merit Awards Certificates for their exceptional work in 2025. Lerato Makua was awarded the special Care Taker Award of 2025, recognizing her dedication to her role.
Radingwane announced plans to extend his recognition program to all Groblersdal Taxi platform drivers, awarding Best Driver’s Awards in the near future.
He also revealed his intention to collaborate with the GTA’s Executive to provide free family transport during funerals, a gesture he currently offers as an individual taxi owner.
“We are transforming our industry, and it is evident in the behaviour of our drivers. You will never find our drivers dirty or fighting in front of our commuters,” Radingwane said proudly.
He highlighted the association’s commitment to customer service, citing instances where lost items are returned to their owners, and praised the office clerks for their tireless efforts in ensuring the smooth operation of the association.
Radingwane’s vision for a transformed taxi industry is centered on prioritizing commuter safety, recognizing the contributions of drivers and staff, and giving back to the community that supports their businesses. He said his efforts aim to set a new standard for the industry, one that puts the needs of the community first.
