Lesedi-sedi honours their graduates and top performing pupils

Lesedi-sedi Independent School in Moroke held its annual prize giving ceremony and graduations to the privilege of their learners and excitement of their parents. On December 5, the school celebrated its top performing pupils during a prize-giving ceremony held at the school’s ECD Centre.
The following day, December 6, at the same venue, the school organised a graduation ceremony for the preschoolers. During the prize- giving, Lesedi-Sedi’s founder and CEO, PEL Moloto, said the school has excelled during the course of the year (2025).
“We participated in the Independent Benchmarking Competition, particularly in Languages and Mathematics, where we proudly progressed to the provincial level- an achievement worth celebrating.”
Moloto said Lesedi-Sedi primary school received Umalusi Accreditation, which confirms the quality and excellence of the school’s programs.
“Our secondary has also been approved by the DBE and is now also ISASA- accredited school. The primary school was also accepted into the IEB PSI (Primary School Initiative) and our secondary school is now IEB Exam centre.”
Moloto once again confirmed that Lesedi-Sedi will have its first group of matric pupils in 2027.
“We are already planning and preparing our 2026 Grade 11s for matric. When they reach matric, they will be familiar with the topics and syllabuses for Grade 12. We are planning for a 100% bachelor pass rate for our matric class of 2027. The school plan for Lesedi-Sedi is to provide a rich and rounded educational experience for all learners, with a shared ethos and vision of ‘in omnia excellentia!’. In all things excellence. This means to be curious, inspirational, inclusive, kind and to be the best.”
On the awards, Moloto said: “We’re here to applaud the great achievements of our learners. Our sincere thanks go to the parents for supporting their children.”
Those honoured during the awards were top pupils from grades one to 10, the best pupils per subject as well as overall best learners per grade.
Parents and teachers snapped photos of their little ones and clapped with pride as each child received an award in the academic categories.
On December 6, proud parents and well-wishers descended on the school to witness the graduation of their little ones. The graduating learners entertained the audience with dances, poems and plays. The kids were also dressed like professionals. Most indicated that they wished to pursue careers in medicine, teaching, nursing and engineering, while others would like to work in the military and the SAPS.
During the graduations, Moloto said they offer best education from their ECD, primary and secondary level. He applauded the parents and educators for putting the interest of the learners first.
“This is our way of honouring the children. It is also a way to say thank you to the parents for entrusting us to take care of their children,” he said.
The event was graced by Dr Boledi Moloto and Dr TT Taueatsoala as key speakers. They highlighted some important tips of growing up and being a learner. They also advised that parents not only pay attention to their children in preschool, but throughout their learning career.
