Elias Motsoaledi Municipality achieves Unqualified Audit Opinion
GROBLERSDAL – TheElias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) has in the most recent present, received an Unqualified Audit Opinion from the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) for the 2024/2025 financial year, a clear recognition of the municipality’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and service delivery.
According to the municipality, the milestone reflects the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of our leadership and staff, and highlights the strong governance, sound financial management, and integrity driving the municipality forward.
EMLM Mayor, Cllr David Tladi, commended the municipality’s administration, led by Municipal Manager Reginah Makgata, and all staff for their dedication and professionalism, which he said it has driven strong governance, sound financial management, and integrity that made the achievement a possibility.
“This unqualified audit opinion proves that focused, accountable leadership delivers real results for our community,” he said.
The achievement is notable, especially considering the challenges faced by many municipalities in South Africa. According to the AGSA, only 13% of municipalities achieved clean audits in the 2022/2023 financial year, highlighting the significance of Elias Motsoaledi Municipality’s accomplishment.
“This remarkable achievement sets a strong foundation for continued progress, improved service delivery, and a brighter future for all residents, reinforcing Elias Motsoaledi Municipality as a model of good governance and excellence,” Tladi said.
