Rachoene engages communities and Magoshi to transform local roads
KGAUTSWANA
There is slight hope for villagers using road D2405 in Kgautswana within the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM), Sekhukhune District.
On Tuesday September 16, Limpopo MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure Ernest Rachoene engaged with stakeholders from the Kgwete Traditional Council to address urgent concerns regarding the condition of the road (D2405).
The engagement formed part of the Department’s broader #Stakeholder Tuesdays initiative which is focused on strengthening relations with traditional leadership, municipal structures and local communities to accelerate road upgrades and improve service delivery across the province.
The Kgautswana road has long been on the radar for Limpopo government. In 2022, Road Agency Limpopo had promised to appoint a consulting engineer for the D2405, three years later, the community was never updated with such appointment.
The meeting with Kgautswana delegates was not the only appointment for Stakeholder Tuesdays, Rachoene also engaged with stakeholders from Atok to address challenges regarding the condition of Road D4180 within the FTLM.
This engagement reflected the Department’s unwavering commitment to responsive governance and the urgent resolution of roads infrastructure related challenges.
The engagement with stakeholders from Atok is part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to improve Roads infrastructure in Limpopo and to provide better drivable roads for all communities.
MEC Rachoene has promised to keep communities informed about progress on Road D4180.
