MEC Rachoene meets FTLM Mayor to discuss roads infrastructure improvements
BURGERSFORT
Limpopo MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure (LPWRI), Ernest Rachoene, has on Tuesday 9 September 2025, held a fruitful stakeholder engagement meeting with the Mayor of Fetakgomo Tubatse Municipality (FTLM), Cllr Eddie Maila, and other officials at the municipal offices in Burgersfort.
The meeting focused on discussing the state of roads in the municipal area, particularly the improvement of the D4117, D4176, D4177, and D4144 Roads.
According to the municipality, these roads are essential for rural access and community development, and their delay in execution continues to affect service delivery and economic mobility.
Tendani Munyai, LDWRI Spokesperson, said the meeting aimed to strengthen the District Development Model (DDM), addressing persistent service delivery challenges on the roads in question.
To address this issue, the meeting explored the possibility of establishing a Private Public Partnership (PPP) to improve road infrastructure. Sekhukhune based businessman, Morgan Mohlala, was also in attendance, contributing to the discussions.
MEC Rachoene’s efforts are part of the broader initiative to drive growth and development in Limpopo, emphasizing collaboration and partnership.
Recently during the State of The Local Municipality Address (SOLMA), Mayor Maila announced that the municipality has allocated R1.3 billion towards enhancing people’s lives and accelerating service delivery.
The municipality plans to construct several roads, including the Shushumela Internal Roads, Ga-Mokgotho Access Road, and Mashifane Park Roads, which will improve access, stimulate economic growth, and create job opportunities.
