The three Limpopo cyclists that peddled from Burgersfort to Cape Town visited Green House Lifestyle at Ga-Motodi on May 24. Arriving in their bicycles, the trio travelled for about 16 kilometres, from Ga Mashamothane to Ga Motodi riding their famous bikes. They were flanked by other cyclists from local villages in Tubatse.
The trio, Karabo Mokoo, Gauta Mahlakoana and Maxwell Ndou, known to many as the Gauta BMX Team travelled for 1741 kilometres from Burgersfort to Cape Town in April.
At Green House, they were welcomed by more than 500 cheering supporters. An event to honour them was held at the liquor store’s pool area. Attendees also included the management of Tubatse SAPS as well as Fetakgomo Tubatse’s traffic officials. Entertainment was galore, dance groups and Victor Madalane wowed the crowd. DJ Karri was also scheduled to perform later that night.
“We need you to emulate the Gauta BMX Crew, they set a good example, that despite challenges, people can still achieve their goals. Focus and participate in sporting activities, refrain from abusing alcohol and drugs,” said station commander at Tubatse SAPS Mahlathini Ngele.
Jaftha Morena of Green House applauded the Gauta BMX team for their historic ride.
