JANE FURSE
The Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (MLM)’s mayor Cllr. Merah Mahlase, led Dikgerekgere Tuesday Initiative and Clean-up Campaign in Wards 18 and 19 within the Jane Furse Cluster to improve the state of internal gravel roads and promote environmental protection against waste material. The initiative started on December 4.
The municipality’s Infrastructure Development (ID) department restored Dichoeung and Vergelegen B internal gravel roads using grading methods. The Madibong area is also getting attention.
The municipality said it is committed to restoring the condition of roads and infrastructure that has been impacted by recent severe rainfall and hail.
“Our maintenance workers and yellow fleet operators are constantly on the ground, working hard to ensure accessibility on municipal roads,” said the mayor.
Mahlase was joined by Head of Infrastructure Development (ID), Cllr. Sam Malaka; Deputy Head of ID, Cllr. Makanyoge Morwamakoti; several other councillors and community members who participated in the Clean-up Campaign for the greater purpose of keeping the environment clean.
