Magolego to drop divine inspirational gospel album
JANE FURSE
After taking a break in music for almost two years, Jane Furse based nationally acclaimed gospel artist, Davis Magolego, is set to release his fourth album in January 2025.
Magolego, who hails from Ga-Moretsele Village in Jane Furse, will be releasing his ten tracks gospel album, titled: “Dr Davis”, with “Halephirimile” as a title track.
Magolego, who is also the National Organiser of Operation Dudula Movement, says he took an almost two-year break in music to focus on his political career and other community upliftment interests, because things were becoming too much for him to handle.
“However, I returned to music because music is my calling. I now decided to pursue both music and Operation Dudula duties at the same time. In the literal sense, I will actually not be resting. In the mean-time, I am working on my latest album that will be released in January,” he said.
Magolego said the pain of watching his country collapsing due to drug dealers and other criminals made him join Operation Dudula and become very active and a loyal member of the organisation.
“The pain of losing my country transformed me to who I am today but bottom line is when I enter any church doors they all know that I will be healing broken souls with my gospel music,” he said.
In his music career, Magolego released three clap and tap albums, one instrumental gospel album and two struggle songs singles composed for Operation Dudula Movement.
His albums are available in various music shops countrywide.
Magolego was the conductor and founding member of Gauteng’s ‘The Holly Voices Gospel Choir’, which played a big role in developing many singers who later joined the likes of ‘Lejwe La Motheo Artist Development’.
“By that time, I was well-known because of my own different style of singing and song arrangements, which gave us a lot of support from all the big respected choirs,” he said.
He shared a stage with internationally acclaimed gospel artists such as Dr Winnie Mashaba where in certain times, he also assisted in mixing her tracks at one of their Blue Black Studios.
Magolego also played part during the shooting of music videos for Burgersfort based artist, ‘Wade Yarrow’.
Apart from music and politics, Magolego is the founder and the first producer of Thetha FM’s award-winning slot, ‘Thoriso ya Badumedi’, where he also worked behind the microphone as a presenter of the same show.
The historic radio show groomed many talented presenters who are currently working for SABCs Lesedi FM.
