Limpopo Market Show set to dazzle local flavors and crafts

The rural landscapes of Limpopo are set to shine as never before with the announcement of the first-ever Explore Limpopo Tourism Market Show, organized by Limpopo Provincial Tourism Association.

Scheduled to take place from 5 to 6 September 2024 at Tzaneen in the Mopani District Municipality (MDM), this vibrant event will bring together local hospitality products, tour operators, cultural tour guides, and culinary experts to showcase the unique and diverse offerings of Limpopo’s scenic and untapped areas.

According to Thama Ramulongo, Limpopo Provincial Tourism Association Public Relations Officer, the Explore Limpopo Tourism Market Show aims to highlight the rich cultural heritage, breath-taking natural beauty, and innovative tourism products that make Limpopo a must-visit destination.

“Attendees can look forward to an array of activities including cultural performances where they will experience traditional music, dance and storytelling that reflect the vibrant cultures of Limpopo’s diverse communities. Artisanal crafts will also be able to browse and purchase handmade crafts, textiles, and artworks created by talented local artisans,” explained Ramulongo.

She said the event will also hold workshops and seminars where visitors will learn about sustainable tourism practices, rural development and how to support community-based tourism initiatives.

Ramulongo said the event is not just a celebration but also an opportunity to drive economic growth and development in the region and by promoting rural tourism, the show aims to empower local communities, create jobs, and preserve the cultural and natural heritage of Limpopo.

Dr Mashudu Silimela, Chairperson of the Limpopo Provincial Tourism Association said they are thrilled to launch the Explore Limpopo Tourism Market Show in the province.

“This event is a testament to the beauty and potential of our diverse areas and tourism products.
