Elderly woman dies in hospital after attack, help police find the culprits

LEBOWAKGMO – Police in Lebowakgomo within the Capricorn District have launched a manhunt for suspects who attacked and assaulted an elderly 79 year-old woman in Zone R in the early hours of Monday, 17 June morning, who later died in hospital.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said it is alleged that police were summoned to the local hospital at about 07:30, after the elderly woman was brought there by her neighbour.

Ledwaba indicated that was after she was allegedly found lying naked outside her house. “She also had head injuries and bruises on her body. The victim was immediately rushed to hospital, where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment. Her identity is currently being withheld pending further investigations. Police registered a case of murder,” explained Ledwaba.
