Limpopo SAPS arrest Tubatse’s illegal mining kingpin

A 48-year-old male illegal mining mastermind Mahlaka Lucas Makuwa briefly appeared before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on Monday 03 June facing charges of theft of precious minerals.
According to the SAPS, the accused was released on a fixed bail amount of R20 000, and his case was postponed to 02 August .
During his next court date, he will appear alongside his accomplices (18 truck drivers.)
“It is reported that the accused, Makuwa, has ultimately handed himself over to the police on Monday, 03 June, following several endeavours to arrest him without success,” confirmed Limpopo SAPS spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
