In her address, the executive mayor committed to hosting a dedicated tourism indaba within the district in the near future, emphasising the importance of promoting local tourism and fostering economic growth.
“We are confident that our involvement in the Africa Travel Indaba led to greater visibility and investment in our district, further supporting the growth of our local economy and tourism sector,” said Bahula.
She emphasizes the importance of making tourism inclusive for all, with a specific focus on positioning Sekhukhune as a premier tourism destination.
She highlights the crucial role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) in these endeavours, recognizing their efforts in collaboration with the government to address the triple challenges of unemployment, poverty, and inequality in our communities.
