Officers conferred station commander ranks

LIMPOPO – Limpopo South African Police Service (SAPS) Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has conferred ranks to station commanders to elevate service to communities in the province.

General Hadebe presented the newly appointed officers in the form of eight station commanders during an event that was conducted on Tuesday, 30 April at the PC’s Boardroom 2nd Floor, Landbank Building in Polokwane.

According to Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, the station commanders will be serving at various stations across the province to strengthen the battle against crime, corruption and lawlessness.

The appointment of the officers is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the South SAPS in rendering service delivery to the communities including those in remote areas.

Mashaba informed, “The special ceremony was attended by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Support Services, Major General Christine Morakaladi, Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Policing, Major General Jan Scheepers, Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Major General Samuel Manala, District Commissioners, Station Commanders and Provincial Heads.” 

The deputy provincial commissioners and district commissioners congratulated the members and shared messages of support and encouragement in preparing the recipients for the job ahead of them.

In her remarks during the ceremony, General Hadebe said, “These appointments come with a huge responsibility, so be ready to run with the baton and serve our communities with dedication. Ensure that you perform your duties with principles, be able to make your own decisions, and don’t let your guts down. If you are entrusted to do the job, then be trusted. Lastly, ensure that you work closely with your communities as part of social mobilisation. This way, you will realise impact.”

The newly appointed eight station commanders are as follows:

1. Lephalale SAPS, Station Commander: Colonel Mangalani Mabila.

2.  Hlanganani SAPS, Station Commander: Lieutenant Colonel Dingani Rikhotso. 

3. Malipsdrift SAPS, Station Commander:  Lieutenant Colonel Hensia Semenya-Fambe.

4. Hoedspruit SAPS, Station Commander: Lieutenant Colonel Vonani Mthombeni.

5. Tshilwavhusiku SAPS, Station Commander: Lieutenant Colonel Shililo Mukoma.

6. Vila Nora SAPS, Station Commander: Captain Morongwe Lelope.

7. Mashashane SAPS, Station Commander: Captain Kolobe Selolo.

8. Rooiberg SAPS, Station Commander: Captain Solomon Mashala.
