Work on Ga-seleke-Hoepkrantz Road has started – MEC Rakgoale
LEOLO – The MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Nkakareng Rakgoale has on Friday, 19 April announced that work has started to improve the poor state of the D4230 Road at Ga-Sekele-Hoepkrantz in Leolo Village.
MEC Rakgoale indicated that the department has deployed a team to maintain the road, which is in a dire state and not drivable.
The MEC shared the information during a meeting with Head of Infrastructure Department of Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality, Morwamakoti Makanyoge, who also represented Mayor Merah Mahlase that day at.
The briefing, held at Makhuduthamaga municipal boardroom in Jane Furse, also attended by Schoonoord cluster councilors, heard that work has started in the area and the team will be capacitated to fastrack the maintenance work. The team later proceeded to Leolo Village from Jane Furse.
The move to improve the poor condition of the road proves commitment of the department to develop roads infrastructure in the district.
It follows hot on the heels of the recent roads’ rehabilitation monitoring programme Rakgoale led in Moutse where she assessed the ongoing efforts to upgrade roads and ensure effective service delivery to residents.
Then, the MEC personally oversaw the rehabilitation progress of the D856 and the D2913 in the area outside Groblersdal.
Additionally, the team conducted a thorough assessment of the pothole patching drive along the crucial R25 main road leading to Gauteng and Mpumalanga provinces.
Expressing her commitment, Rakgoale emphasized on the department and Road Agency Limpopo’s resoluteness in their mission to enhance road conditions for all motorists.
“We are determined to make our roads drivable and ensure safe passage for our communities,” said Rakgoale.
