BPSA meets IEC requirements for 2024 general election
Ntwane
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), has given a green light to the Bolsheviks Party of South Africa (BPSA) to contest in the upcoming national and provincial government election, set for 29 May 2024.
BPSA Leader, Seun Mogotji, publicly announced the news to party members, supporters and alliance partners on Tuesday 26 March.
According to Mogotji, BPSA has met all requirements set by the IEC to qualify to participate in the elections and will be contesting nationally and in three provinces namely Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Gauteng.
BPSA was formed a few years ago at Lesehleng in Ntwane Village, Dennilton, Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM). Since its establishment, the party has gained popularity and has been represented in various local municipalities and Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM).
“For a party that started small and having their meetings at Lesehleng pay point to now be swimming with the big sharks nationally and provincially is a milestone for the party of choice,” said Mogotji.
He said the continued growth of the BPSA sits well in terms of future prospects.
“We thank our ground forces for working tirelessly in ensuring the growth of the organization,” he said.
After its formation, BPSA started campaigning for a more egalitarian society, and for the Moutse area to be transferred from Limpopo to Mpumalanga province.
The party competed in the 2016 Municipal election, winning three seats in the (EMLM), and contested the 2019 general election in Limpopo Province.
It then made inroads into Mpumalanga Province with several branches having been launched and later launched more branches in Gauteng Province.
“These are indeed exciting times for a party that started in the dusty streets of Ntwane, its consistent growth is so surreal. We receive daily requests for party membership forms and this sends a clear message to the party leadership that the people are starting to realise that change is needed in order to change the status quo and the Bolsheviks Party of South Africa is the only party capable of bringing that change,” said Mogotji.
Mogotji said they pride themselves for being advocates of change and the voice of the voiceless. “We vow to fight to the bitter end until public office bearers learn that public funds are meant for service delivery and to improve the lives of our people not for the elite few to live in the lap of luxury while our people live in abject poverty, disease and squalor,” he said.
