FTLM achieves an unqualified audit opinion for the 2022/23

BURGERSFORT

The Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) has achieved an unqualified audit opinion for the 2022/23 financial year.
This is the second attainment since the merger of the Greater Tubatse Municipality and Fetakgomo Municipality in 2016. The first was in 2020/21.
The award was confirmed by the communications manager, Thabiso Mokoena, who said the unqualified audit report from the Auditor-General of South Africa was formally tabled on December 4.
“This outcome confirms that the FTLM has adhered to various financial and non-financial legislations that govern local government, and it is an affirmation that governance, sound financial management and service delivery are the cornerstones of the council,” said Mayor Eddie Maila. He thanked the council, executive committee and various portfolio committees for overseeing throughout the financial year.
“Special thanks to the municipal manager, Mogaramedi Makgata, and his team of directors and officials for implementing the audit turnaround strategy in a coherent manner and for ensuring that the decisions of council are being implemented and monitored.”
Maila thanked the audit committee and all the sector departments that supported the municipality throughout the year. “We also want to extend our gratitude to our ratepayers and the community of FTLM for supporting the programmes of the municipality. Clean administration and prudent and sound financial management are the cornerstones and the building blocks of a sustainable FTLM.”
