Pupils hospitalized after allegedly eating sweets and snacks

LEGOLANENG – School children in Legolaneng Village had to be admitted to Matlala Hospital after they complained of stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting last Thursday morning.

It is alleged that the learners from Bonang Banani Primary School, a total of 30 in number, told the health officials who were dispatched to the school that they ate sweets and snacks.

The pupils were admitted to Matlala Hospital around 09:30 that morning and have since been discharged.

Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality Mayor, David Tladi, who visited the learners at the hospital within Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality in Tsimanyane Village, said: “Indeed this is concerning for us and we call for patience from parents while investigations are underway and the learners are recovering.”
