New Municipal Manager appointed in SDM

The council of Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM) has during its council sitting, resolved to appoint Meshack Mahlagaume Kgwale as the new Municipal Manager (MM) of the institution.

Kgwale, who the municipality said was appointed to strengthen the senior management of the institution, started with his five-year duties that commenced from 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2028.

Prior to his new appointment, Kgwale was acting municipal manager of Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) and will be replacing Nancy Rampedi who was acting MM of SDM.

Kgwale holds a B.Tech in Commerce from the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and a Post graduate Diploma in Public Administration, from the University of Witwatersrand, majoring in Monitoring and Evaluation.

Kgwale is a consummate local government administrator spanning over 17 years. He also served as Senior Manager of Executive Support in EMLM and also Director of Strategic Management in the same local municipality.

He steered EMLM to the 100% Municipal Infrastructure Grant spending and Unqualified Audit Opinion for three consecutive years.

SDM Executive Mayor, Cllr Maleke Mokganyetji, sent her well wishes to Kgwale and all the best on his new responsibilities.
