Makhuduthamaga council extends work of cleaning services by a month, appoints three senior managers
JANE FURSE – The Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Council during its recent special sitting agreed to extend the cleaning services contract by a further period that does not exceed a month until a new company is appointed.
Lempson Moropyane, Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality spokesperson, indicated that the council uniformly and collectively supports the decision to ensure continuation a clean and safe for use environment. Moropyane further said the incumbent cleaning service provider was appointed in September 2020.
“Now, ordinarily, this extension by one month is to allow the new potential bidder enough time to complete the required process,” indicated Moropyane.
Meanwhile, the council, in an effort to bolster the administrative arm, improve audit outcomes and enhance service delivery to the people, announced the appointment of three new senior managers with impeccable track record in government.
Moropyane revealed that the three bring with them a wealth of experience in management competence to the municipality.
“This follows the lapsing of contract of employment of these three positions earlier this year. The council has appointed Mr. Choene Mphiwa Victor as the new Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Mashao Audrey Mashienyane as the new Senior Manager, Community Services and Mr. Matsetse Phakeng Eras as Senior Manager Corporate and Shared Services,” informed Moropyane.
The three senior managers will effectively commence and assume their new responsibilities on 1 October 2023.
“Council has expressed full confidence in the trio as they begin their journey of championing service delivery for Makhuduthamaga’s residents and also ensure that the ship remains afloat,” concluded Moropyane.
