Local artist set to release new single

Mmapula Makua aka Vocalist Mmapula, a local artist based in Jane Furse, is set to release two singles in September, titled ‘Lekompo and Bantlhoile’.

The 18-year-old from Malegale Village outside Jane Furse told Sekhukhune Times that the fresh amapiano tracks will be released next month and expected to top the charts in local and national radio stations.

The “Mjolo Ke Scam” hit maker said she decided to collaborate with Willy Seropana in her new music projects who she says was hands-on in her previous music projects.

“I previously collaborated with Seropana and we released ‘Mao Chill Out’, which we performed in many events and the people liked it. I am so happy with our collaboration and also thank Willy Seropana for contributing to make me what I am today,” she said.

Vocalist Mmapula started her music career in 2021 and recorded a number of singles including Hennessey, Valeka, Machinkolo, Dlala ka lerago, Bampaledisha gophela, Manaba, Menateng and the famous Mjolo ke scam.

“I felt a need to release ‘Mjolo ke scam’ because I realized that in relationships, boys and girls hurt each other. I decided to release this song aiming to encourage young people to tread carefully when it comes to relationships. I am currently busy with my upcoming project which will comprise of two singles, however, I am also planning to work on a full album soon,” she said.

Mmapula said her role model is Makhadzi and she wants to see herself sharing stage with her in the near future.

“My drive for success is what pushes me to do music, nothing is impossible. I am inspired by my music and planning to release music videos soon to be available on major digital platforms such as YouTube and Spotify,” she said.
