Salga honours MLM once again

The South African Local Government Association (Salga) has bestowed an honour on Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (MLM) during and event held at the Ranch Hotel on Friday. The award is in recognition of MLM service excellence .
Salga awards are organised annually in recognition of accountability and achievements towards good governance and on how municipalities respond to local government and its people.
MLM is recognised and awarded for having sustained its unqualified audit opinion for the 4th consecutive year in the 2021/2022 financial year.
The acting Premier, who is also the MEC for cooperative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs (Coghsta), Basikopo Makamu, reminded municipalities of the pressure to sustain unqualified audit outcomes and ensuring that, ” they not only stay on top, but also work towards clean administration in the coming financial years and also deliver services that speaks to the hearts of communities “.
Councillors Malaka Mogobo, Speaker of Council Judy Nkgadima Mphelane have alongside the Municipal Manager (MM), Ronald Moganedi received the award.
Moganedi said the MLM is on course to attain clean administration, through the implementation of audit action plans flagged in the previous year by the auditor general (AG) and improve on internal financial controls amongst others.
