EFF Limpopo dismay over alleged abduction of young woman

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Limpopo has called on the police to deploy maximum resources to ensure the safe return of one of their members, a young woman who the party believes was allegedly abducted by unknown people.
Thobile Venolia Skhosana (26), from Matsitsi Village outside Groblersdal, went missing since Sunday 31 December 2022.
According to the victim’s mother, she left her daughter behind at home at about 14:00, however, later when she returned, Thobile was nowhere to be found.
EFF Provincial Spokesperson in Limpopo, Tshilidzi Maraga, said the party notes with deep sense of sadness agony the abduction of their female member from Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) Ward 19.
“Fighter Thobile was last seen at Sehlakwane Village while attending a New Year’s Eve event at a local sports grounds. The EFF calls for the South African Police Service to deploy maximum resources to ensure that fighter Thobile is found safe and sound,” she said.
Maraga said a case of missing person was opened at Hlogotlou Police Station in Monsterlus and the party has urged the police to leave no stone unturned to locate the victim.
“Furthermore, we are appealing anyone who might shed light on fighter Thobile’s whereabouts to come forward,” concluded Maraga.
Sergeant Maphure Manamela, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said a missing person file was opened at Hlogotlou Police Station and the police started with investigations.
“The police investigations revealed that the victim was last seen at Holnek Village in the Zaaiplaas Policing area where she was attending a ceremony. A search operation was conducted at the said village including in the surrounding areas without success,” she said.
Manamela said the police appeal to anyone with information that can assist to locate the missing woman, to contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant Officer Alex Mahlakoane on 066 263 4470, the crime stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest police station. She said the public may also share the information using MySAPSApp.
