Maila urges motorists to adhere to road rules this festive

BURGERSFORT

In ensuring safer festive season, Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality ‘s Mayor Cllr Eddie Maila hit the ground running as he joined traffic officials during road safety campaigns in the CBD.

The road awareness campaign was joined by the mayor, accompanied by Executive committee members Queen Moeng , Release Marwale Radingwana, portfolio committee members of communities services, municipal traffic officers, and Burgersfort SAPS.

The officials conducted a stop and search as part of festive season  Arrive Alive campaign  in Burgersfort. The campaign is to make sure that drivers are obeying the road rules and arrive at their destinations safe.

According to the municipality’s communications department, the main goal of this programme was to also ensure that the community, particularly motorists, are in compliance with all road regulations.

Many motorists were pulled over by traffic officials, who also checked if their vehicles were roadworthy.

Maila issued a stern warning against those likely to break road rules, saying they must abide by the traffic laws this festive season or face jail.
