Local youth uplifted with skills
PRAKTISEER
Fifteen local youth were excited after graduating with blasting and competent A certificates. The graduation ceremony was held at Mediro Training Academy offices in Praktiseer on Friday. The training was made possible by BCR Mining and Mediro Training Academy as they aim to provide skills to local youths.
Mediro’s John Moropane said the three months certificates acquired by the youth will assist them in getting jobs within the mining industry. He said they are registered with the Mining Qualification Authority (MQA).
“We gave you skills to start something. Go out there and seek opportunities and make a name for yourself. There are opportunities galore in Tubatse, grab those opportunities.”
Olgah Makhudu of BCR Mining said they assisted in the training in order to uplift local youth and to aid them in job searching.
One of the graduates, Advocate Taka was thankful to the two institutions. “We see ourselves as winners. We are now competent to be employed. The ball is in our court, we will strive to get those opportunities.”
