Newly appointed MM receives accolades
JANE FURSE – The newly appointed Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (MLM) Municipal Manager (MM), Ronald Moganedi was on Friday, 11 November 2022 given a warm welcome into office following a 04 November 2022 resolution by the local municipality’s council to assign him as the accounting officer.
The Special Council Sitting resolved that Moganedi be assigned to the position for the next five years, effective from 01 December 2022.
He is a University of Johannesburg graduate in possession of a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Accounting.
Moganedi was previously entrusted by council to act in a similar position for over six months to date when he was appointed.
He was among the first group of students that were awarded a Makhuduthamaga Bursary to pursue tertiary academic education in 2004.
Upon completion of his degree, he was recruited by the same municipality as an intern in the finance department before further climbing the administration ladder and later appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a period of six years.
From different formations of organized focal groupings dealing with social affairs in different communities, traditional healers, Magoshi, the business and taxi organizations, all reflected and showered the municipal manger with accolades and commended the council collective for his appointment.
MM Moganedi indicated that he remained humbled by the support and appreciation across all sectors and committed his leadership to making the municipality function and bring about the desired development and delivers on its constitutional mandate.
Lempson Moropyane, MLM Communications Manager, said under his leadership as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Moganedi stabilized finances and aided the municipality to be able to utilize its own internal capacity to prepare Annual Financial Statements (AFS) which resulted in attaining six consecutive Unqualified Audit outcome from the Auditor General (AG).
MLM Mayor, Minah Bahula, presented the new MM to municipal stakeholders so as to canvass working relations and ensure a culture of interactive participatory governance from those structures to enhance development.
