Malemati Primary School has been vandalized

Malemati Primary School within Lepelle Nkumpi Local Municipality (LNM) in Ga-Mphahlele village, Lekurung section outside Lebowakgomo area has been vandilised by unknown people last week.

 

On Tuesday October 25th, guardians, parents and members of the community disrupted learning and teaching programmers at this school. Which resulted in the closing of the school and no one was permitted to enter into the school premises.

 

According to them the state of the school is no longer conducive for their children to learn in. They said the Limpopo Department of Education has promised to build a new school for their children, therefore there were calling on the department to honor its promise.

 

The school which has been in operation since it was officially opened in 1968 has been vitalized by unknown, suspected members of the community.

 

“The state, in which the school building is in, is not safe for our children and most definitely not conducive for teaching and learning to anyone in the premises” said one parent.

 

The school has been closed, and activities have been halted since, parents and guardians added that they will continue to disrupt activities at the school until the Limpopo Department of Education honors their promise, by building and improving the state of this two block school.
