SDM fills critical Senior Positions

Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM) appointed four senior officials to fill vacant positions. According to SDM Communications Manager, Khomotso Ndhlovu, the decision was taken by the district municipality’s council, resolving to make a few appointments to strengthen the senior management of the institution.
“The council has appointed Mr. Nkwane Danger Matumane, as the Director of Corporate Services, with effect from 1 October 2022 to the 30th of September 2027,” Ndhlovu said.
Matumane holds a Master of Governance and Political Transformation and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the Free State and UNISA respectively. He has over 20 years’ experience in senior management positions.
Ndhlovu said the council has also resolved to appoint Hendrick Legamane Nkadimeng, as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a fixed period from 1 October 2022 to the 30th of September 2027.
Nkadimeng is a young and dynamic holder of a B.Com (Accounting) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation from the University of Johannesburg and Witwatersrand University respectively. Nkadimeng is a former Acting CFO of Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (MLM), of which he helped the local municipality attain unqualified audit opinion.
Furthermore, Ndhlovu said the SDM council took a resolution to appoint Debra Khomotso Robinson, as the Chief Operations Officer (COO), for a fixed period from 1 October 2022 to the 30th of September 2027.
Robinson is currently studying for her master’s in business administration at the Southern Business School. She has been working for the district municipality in various management positions since the year 2005 and has a wealth of experience in the operations of SDM.
Ndhlovu indicated that in addition, the SDM council has also resolved to appoint Floyd Mashele, as the Director of Infrastructure and Water Services, for a fixed period from 01 November 2022 to the 30th of October 2027.
Mashele is armed with a BTech Civil Engineering Degree from the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).
He has over ten years’ experience in senior management, having worked for Victor Khanye Local Municipality as a Director Technical Services from 2012, currently Municipal Engineer at Nkangala District Municipality in Mpumalanga.
Ndhlovu said Mashele will assume his new role as Director of Infrastructure and Water Services from the 01 November 2022.
