Mmotla appointed acting LSC Secretary General
Marulaneng – The Executive Board of Limpopo Sports Confederation (LSC), has appointed Thavhanacle Ultra-Physio Sport (TUPS) founder, Puleng Mmotla, Acting Secretary General of the confederation.
Mmotla was appointed in the position following the resignation of then Secretary General Clarika Strydom who held the position since she was elected on 22 November 2020.
Mmotla, who is currently heading the Marketing and Communications divisions of the body, has been nominated by all members to take reigns as Acting Secretary General of the confederation.
LSC President, Malesela Ally Pole, said the executive board of the confederation accepted Strydom’s resignation, however, it came in a difficult time when the structure and secretariat office were expected to deliver their first physical Annual General Meeting (AGM), ever since the current leadership was elected collectively.
“Following Strydom’s resignation, the Executive Board of Limpopo Sports Confederation agreed that Mmotla should act in the Secretariat Office, owing to his experience in organizing, stakeholder mobilisation and passion for sport development,” Pole said.
He added that Mmotla’s immediate mandate is to deliver the pending AGM, coordinate the Secretariat Forum, comprising of Secretaries of all the five District Sport Confederations, the fundraising campaigns and strengthening of active federations.
“We wish Mr Mmotla can unmute his latent potential to move Limpopo to greater heights until we usher the new Secretary-General in due course,” said Pole.
Mmotla is also the president of Sekhukhune Sports Confederation and founding President of TUPS Sport Federation, a Limpopo invented home-grown sporting code he founded at Marulaneng Village outside Jane Furse few years ago.
Since its inception, TUPS is been played all over the country and has already been introduced to other African countries.
