Local poet and writer scoops another award

MOTETEMA– The 25 year-old multi-award-winning poet and writer from Motetema Township outside Groblersdal, Tshepiso Makgoloane has once again received another accolade for her excellent poetry.

The vibrant young writer and poet was earlier this year nominated for the Pan Africanist Multilinguism Awards.

Tshepiso’s multi-award winning book, “Tša-Ma Africa” saw her ascent to the nominee state in the literature category.

Last year, “Tša Ma Africa” won the 25 year-old two awards, the African Nominee Authors Award and the South African Literary Award 2021 in the poetry category.

AT the time, Tshepiso said she never thought “Tša Ma Africa” would take her so far when it started as an e-book which was first published in 2020 in the Write Publish Read (WPR), a self publishing programme offered by Via Africa.

The motivational speaker and editor informed that her other Sepedi poetry collection book was in publication process by the National Library of South Africa in the Community Publishing Grant.

The pride of Motetema Township and Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality most recently received third prize in the youth section of Pan African Language Awards.

The blissful writer and poet promises her followers more for the future and encourages the youth to empower themselves through reading and acquire as much knowledge as possible.
