Mabulane circuit honours top learners and teachers

The Mabulane Circuit honoured best pupils and educators for the matric class of 2021. The event was held at Sogane Secondary School outside Ga Makofane on April 13.
The Mabulane circuit which is the worst performing circuit managed a pass rate of 50.9% with the 2021 results.
The circuit has set themselves a pass rate of 70% while the pupils promised a 100 percent pass rate for 2022.Keynote speaker Dr Ngwaketsi Thobakgale said parents need to assist teachers in improving the results. “Parents need to persuade their kids to focus on their studies.
“To our kids, the first hurdle is to pass your matric with flying colours. Then apply to institutions of higher learning. Bursaries are galore; all that is left is for you to study.”
He said principals need to be brave and dedicated. “Take initiative, In order to work effectively, you must be brave to take decisions.”
Amongst the best schools honoured on the day was Makidi Secondary. The school managed a 67 percent pass rate; this is an improvement on the zero percent achieved with the 2020 matric pupils. Magatagabotse School is the best performing school, followed by Sogane and Makidi. Another school that did tremendously well was Leagathoko. They also scooped an avalanche of awards.
The best pupil in the circuit was Sogane’s Kgothatso Dutoi “Chief” Mabelane. He accumulated 6 distinctions in his subjects.
