Local girls’ scoops awards in junior SAPS competitions

BURGERSFORT

Two pupils from local schools have achieved top honours in the provincial junior SAPS competitions.

Evelyn Mafane from Leolo Technical High School has won the title of the junior provincial Police commissioner, while another local girl Ashley Ramaila from Mogale wa Bagale Technical High School scooped the award for the junior Vispol commander.

Both girls were celebrated at their respective schools during the past weeks. They are both in Grade 10.
The learners are passionate debaters who had to engage in fierce arguments against learners from other clusters on issues relating to crime to earn their titles.

They won the provincial competitions against more than 10 other contestants recently in Seshego. On winning her crown, Evelyn qualifies to represent Limpopo in the national junior provincial commissioner later this year.

“I want to see crime being dealt with for our country to be peaceful,” said the determined girl. The girls thanked the Tubatse SAPS and Burgersfort SAPS management and their educators for mentoring them in bringing the trophies home.
