A learner was found in possession of dagga within school premises

Derek Kobe High school learner was found in possession of dagga at school during a safety search school campaign last week.

 

The school search campaign was conducted by the Community Policing Forum (CPR), Community Safety Forum, Youth in Community Policing and local police.

 

Cellphones and other materials not allowed within school premises were also confiscated during the search.

 

The School Safety Campaign is the municipality’s ongoing campaign where schools in the district are paid an unannounced visit and searched to seize items that are not allowed within school premises.

 

Learners were searched and one learner was found possessing dagga in his school bag, the material was them confiscated by the search party. Disciplinary measures are said to take place against the learner.
