Residents took to the streets

Tswaing residents in Ga-Mphahlele village outside Lebowakgomo took to the street over unmaintained road in their village.

The concerned residents barricaded R579 road in between Ga-Masemola and Lebowakgomo demanding the responsible officials top address their concern.

Motorists were advised to take the R37 road by the Department of Transport and community safety.

According to unhappy community members things became worse after the heavy rain that happened a few weeks ago.

They said they struggled to access public transport for quite sometimes.

“We demanded road maintenance but our concerns have fallen into deaf ears. Learners who use means of transport to school are suffering because motorist can’t pass due to loop holes,” said residents.

Residents said they had to barricades the main road to disrupt the economy so that the government can intervene.
