Kids handed uniforms by bikers
MABOTSHA
Three kids from the Molapo family, who couldn’t attend classes due to the lack of uniform, can now learn with dignity. The trio from Mabotsha joined their peers in class at Sehloi Primary School on Monday. It was for the first time they went to school this year.
The needy kids were handed their school regalia on Sunday. The uniform were donated by Good Samaritans from the Dinatla Motorcycle Club who were accompanied by members from the Joy Riders club. The ceremony was attended by local pastors, relatives of the family and officials from the Mabotsha Development and Caregivers, an organisation which recommended the Molapo family to Dinatla.
Speaking at the event, founder of Mabotsha Development Caregiver Enock Mphogo said they knew they had to do something when they learnt about the family’s challenges.
“After finding out that the kids had no uniform, and did not attend classes, we then engaged with the School management team at Sehloi to seek for a solution.
“We visited the Molapo and saw their hardships ourselves. It’s a family of six, led by a single mother. The kids cannot survive on social grant alone, as the mother is unemployed “
Mphogo said one of their members pleaded with Dinatla to lend a helping hand.
“Today we are happy because the kids have received their desired gifts. We urge other businesses and individuals to engage us in assisting the family.”
The Dinatla Motorcycle Squad has been known for doing charity work in the Tubatse area for the past years.
Gauta Koma president of the club, said they believe in giving back to the community and also to promote education among the youth.
“We will once again assist with winter uniforms .We will also seek assistance to help in install windows on their home.”
Koma said after they have begun to help the Molapo kids, they realised there are other needy child headed families around the Mabocha village.
“There are people out there who need help and we will strive to assist where we can,” he added.
