Organisation to celebrate International Day of persons with disabilities

A local organisation, Queens With Purpose together with its partners will be celebrating the International Day of persons with disabilities on 3 December 2021 at Tubatse Crossing Mall.

Speaking to the Sekhukhune Times, event organiser Thembi Maisela indicated that they will be having different activities to accommodate everyone depending on their disabilities.

“We will be having a 5kilometre and 10 kilometre fun run, sack race, egg and spoon race, diketo, morabaraba and other indigenous games.
“From all the sports activities we select the best three per category, they will then be handed trophies and medals as well as certificates.”

Maisela added, “We will also be giving away t-shirts to participants and people with disabilities.”

The convener said they are inviting all people living with disabilities to come enjoy their special day.

“Anyone who want to be part of this, must  come to the mall at 07:00 in the morning.

“We also invite able people to come support by participating in the festivities.”
