Family gets newly built and fully furnished house

GA-MOLOI – Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Mayor, Minah Bahula on Friday, 24 September handed over a newly built and fully furnished five-roomed house to a destitute family in Ga-Moloi Village, Marageng section in ward 10 of the municipality.

Generally, the municipality is surrounded by poor families, the matter which government has been alerted to and needs to respond to, promptly.

Bahula said that because she knew where she came from, the pain of being subjected to sub human living conditions for a long time she on Heritage Day, she celebrated with the Mmokela family with the beautiful structure.

She said the family’s socio economic status had been improved for the better through having a decent house to live in.

“I would like to appreciate the work done by all those who have contributed. It is encouraging when we make a call as government and see businesses responding and offering a helping hand. This is to ensure the restoration and transformation of the lives of our people and impact change,” said Bahula.

The family lived in a dilapidated structure which made round on social media a few months ago. A Good Samaritan, Judy Mphelane in his capacity as a businessman rolled his sleeves and decided to bring change in the family’s lives.

The Mmokela family expressed their gratitude to the Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality and Mphelane for bringing change in their lives through giving a decent house to live in and restored their dignity.
