Mother arrested for killing a drug addict son

A 60 year old woman who was arrested for allegedly killing her 18 year old son appeared before the Nebo Magistrate ‘s Court on Tuesday. Ramogohlo Beauty Sefoka was released on bail of R1000 with her case being postponed to October 21.
According to the Limpopo SAPS, the victim was identified as Spanky Sefoka, a nyaope drug addict. He reportedly arrived home at Ga -Masemola Kgoogo section, in the early hours of Sunday morning at about 05:00 after attending a wedding. He was armed with two knives. He then allegedly started insulting his 25 year old sister, threatening her with a knife.
“His mother reportedly tried to intervene but was allegedly threatened by the victim. The woman (Sefoka) then allegedly used the wood and a stick to strike the victim until he succumbed to the assault at the scene.

“The woman thereafter came to the Police Station to report the incident and was immediately arrested. When visiting the scene, the Police found the deceased lying with gruesome injuries,” said Limpopo SAPS spokesman Brig Motlafelo Mojapelo.

The provincial commissioner of SAPS in Limpopo Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned this incident and has urged members of the community facing any domestic challenges to seek assistance before the situation spirals out of control and someone loses his/her live in the process.
