UCDP’s Sehume visits EMLM
DENNILTON – The National President of the United Christian Democratic Party (UCDP), Desmond Sehume, visited Mpheleng Village, Dennilton outside Groblersdal within the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) on Saturday in preparation for the local government elections set for October this year.
President Sehume indicated that the visit to the area was not only for the residents of EMLM but was a platform to meet representatives of the party in various municipalities of Limpopo Province in the municipal general elections preparations.
Sehume said the visit went well as they managed to meet as the central committee of the party and the provincial Committee.
The leader further said the main reason for his visit was to engage on issues of poor service delivery in the area which was not satisfactory for the residents.
“The main reason is poor services, the leadership that is not responsible, and services that are not satisfactory. In the main, we are here about a leadership which is not keeping to its promises, the poor state of roads, lack of access to water, and unemployment among the youth that needs attention. We are not only here for Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality but the entire province. We have all representatives from municipalities across the province.
He further indicated that they also engaged on the issue of going to elections as a party. Sehume added that in the main, when talking to the residents of Limpopo, they told them that they have been able to take people forward through a number of their achievements as a party.
Sehume advised that time to experiment was over. The president further added that it was time to take into power an organization that has experience.
He informed that the UCDP was founded by a great leader in Lucas Mangope and that they have built a university that used to be called UNIBO, now the University of the North West, which he prided as being able to provide the needed education for young people of the country.
