No initiation school again this year

Despite eased lockdown restrictions and regulations and having allowed mass gathering with limited numbers of people, the province will not be having initiation school this year.
This was announced by the chairperson of the house of traditional leaders, Kgoshi Malesela Dikgale.
This follows after the house of traditional leaders together with responsible stakeholders had again this year taken a robust decision by suspending this year’s initiation schools due covid-19 pandemic.
House chairperson Kgoshi Malesela Dikgale has once again confirmed they will not be having initiation school this year.
Last year the house of tradition together with executives of command council had not initiated initiation school amidst the lockdown and limitation on gathering to decrease the spread of the covid-19.
But this year the collective decision was made considering safety first given that the cases are expected to spike in winter therefore initiation school cannot be allowed.
Despite having numerous applications the house had received, Dikgale said they’re unable to proceed with initiation school.
As Sekhukhune lead other district in terms of initiating initiation schools in the province, Dikgale confirmed the region assured him that even this year there’s no initiation school which would take place since the Covid-19 is still within us.
